About Jennifer Kennedy Counselling and Psychotherapy in South Manchester

I am a qualified BACP registered Psychotherapist specialising in all types of anxiety including social anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic attacks and phobias. I also specialise in working with eating disorders, childhood trauma, abuse and PTSD. I use an integrated model of therapy incorporating Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, body centred Psychotherapy and person centred counselling. I also use mindfulness techniques to enhance your self-awareness and help you make changes. I also facilitate anxiety and depression management workshops to provide information about anxiety and low mood, how it affects you physically and emotionally and practical ways to help you manage on a day to day basis.

I work on an open ended basis to help you to make positive, lasting changes to your life. I work at depth to help you understand how the past is affecting you in the present and how to work with the thoughts, feelings and behaviours which are limiting you and keeping you from a healthy relationship with yourself and others. Often it has taken us many years to develop and maintain the unhelpful patterns which are causing us to feel the way we do and so working through this takes time, commitment and a willingness to stick with the process. My role as a therapist is to help you understand and uncover any negative, self limiting ways you habitually use to cope with life. I will also help you to become aware of the changes you need to make in order to live freely and with a greater sense of purpose and aliveness.

I am a registered member of the BACP and the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA) which is the governing body for Transactional Analysis Psychotherapists and I am fully insured to practice. I have regular supervision to ensure my work is effective. I work a comfortable space in a therapy centre in Fallowfield, South Manchester.
