Somatic Therapy: Body-Based Healing for Trauma Release and Integration.

Heal your Nervous System with Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is a holistic approach to healing that re-builds the connection between your mind and body. It recognises that traumatic experiences don’t just live in your thoughts—they are held within your body, woven into your cells, muscles, organs and nervous system. By bringing compassionate attention to the body’s sensations, emotions and patterns, somatic therapy creates space for healing to unfold naturally and authentically.

In somatic therapy, we slow down and listen to the subtle language of the body. We explore sensations, shifts in posture, areas of tension or places that feel numb or disconnected. Using mindfulness and body awareness techniques, we gently guide your attention to what’s present in the here and now—without judgment, only curiosity. This might look like noticing a tightness in your chest, contraction in your stomach or emotion that arises with certain memories.

Through this process, emotional blocks held in your body begin to soften, allowing for the release of stored trauma and the integration of new, supportive patterns. Somatic therapy isn’t about fixing what’s "broken"—it’s about reconnecting with the wisdom your body has carried all along. This journey fosters a sense of safety, resilience and embodied presence, helping you feel more grounded, whole and authentic.

"Somatic therapy with Jen was so much more than I expected. I learned to listen to my body in ways I never imagined possible. The gentle, compassionate space she holds allowed me to release emotions I’d carried for years. I feel more grounded and day-by-day I’m starting to feel more at home within myself." A.R.
